About this experience
A fascinating six-day adventure beginning in Arusha, Tanzania’s ‘safari capital,’ with Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro providing the highlights. Accommodation is in comfortable safari lodges and our English-speaking driver-guides will share with you their in-depth knowledge of the animals and their surroundings.

Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
I’d choose this six-day private safari if you want a structured first look at northern Tanzania’s major wildlife landscapes without having to piece together park fees, game-drive transport, meals and stays yourself. The appeal is not a rushed checklist: Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro each bring a different setting, while the same driver-guide is central to making the wildlife days intelligible rather than simply scenic. It looks especially well suited to travellers who value comfortable overnight stops and guided context as much as sightings.
Who this safari suits best
My advice: choose it if your ideal safari is vehicle-based, privately arranged and lodge-led, with the practical core already bundled in. A 4x4 cruiser, driver-guide, accommodation, park fees, water and game-drive refreshments are included, so this is a sensible fit for travellers who would rather concentrate on the parks than organise the moving parts independently.
I think first-time safari travellers are likely to get the most from the format. The route starts with an Arusha overnight before the wildlife-focused days, which gives the trip a gentler opening than arriving and immediately setting out for a park. Repeated traveller feedback particularly values guides who explain animals, vegetation and the wider surroundings, and who can adapt the day to interests; that human element is a meaningful reason to select a guided private itinerary rather than judge it only by its park list.
Choose lodging for the atmosphere you want
I’d choose Comfort Lodging if the idea of glamping tents with private bathrooms feels like part of the safari experience, rather than something to compromise around. It is the more characterful choice for travellers happy to make the overnight setting part of the adventure.
Choose Comfort Plus if you prefer the clarity of upscale lodges, modern amenities and private bathrooms. For a more indulgent trip, Luxury and Luxury Plus move toward named high-end lodges, boutique lodges and refined camps. The trade-off is straightforward: all four options follow the same core wildlife journey, so I’d put the extra budget into a more elevated accommodation style only if the quality and feel of downtime matters as much to you as time on game drives.
Expect a travel day between the park experiences
The itinerary’s important pacing decision comes on day three: after Lake Manyara, the onward journey to Serengeti is described as about five hours and 222km, following the Rift Valley. I’d treat this as an essential landscape-and-transfer day, not a day to expect uninterrupted wildlife viewing from dawn to dusk. Packing patience, enjoying the changing terrain and keeping expectations realistic will make the Serengeti arrival feel more rewarding.
Lake Manyara begins early and uses a picnic lunch, with exploration across plains, acacia woodland and the alkaline lake shore before returning to the lodge. That combination suggests a trip designed around varied habitats, not just the famous open plains. Meals are covered throughout the safari framework—five breakfasts, lunches and dinners—although drinks at lodges and camps are excluded, so I’d allow for those separately.
A practical limitation to weigh carefully
Although the activity is listed as suitable for all physical fitness levels, I would not interpret that as a universal fit. It is specifically not recommended during pregnancy or for travellers with poor cardiovascular health. Infants must sit on an adult’s lap, though specialised infant seats are listed as available. For families, that makes the precise seating arrangement an important consideration rather than an afterthought.
Finally, build your travel budget beyond the package: flights, visas, travel and medical insurance, tips, lodge drinks and laundry are not included. The cancellation terms allow a full refund when cancellation is at least 24 hours before departure, but nothing is refundable within that final 24-hour window; I’d only commit once your arrival plans are firm.
